If there is a fruit which is everyone’s favourite would it be mango? A fresh quick slice works okay but often we like experimenting and kicking it up a notch. Besides mango sorbet, another way of enjoying cold mango for a refreshing treat is in pops – mango raspberry ice pops.
These are easy to make, healthy treats, quite refreshing and equally easy to indulge guilt-free.
Mango Raspberry Ice Pops Ingredients And Substitutions
Ripe mangoes– ripe mangoes have more flavour, juice, and natural sweetness, making them a perfect choice for recipes where you want the mango flavour to shine. You won’t need to add much additional sweetener because the mangoes provide ample sweetness and richness of taste.
Raspberries. If you’re not a fan of raspberries, feel free to substitute them with your favourite berries such as strawberries or blueberries. Choose whichever berry you prefer to customize your mango raspberry pops to suit your taste preferences.
Freshly squeezed orange juice. The juice softens the mango puree, ensuring it’s not too thick and making it easier to pour into your popsicle bags. If preferred, you can substitute the juice with water or your favourite type of juice to achieve the desired consistency for your mango raspberry pop
Honey. It works as a sweetener; you can taste it as you go and see if you want to add more. Substitute with maple syrup or granulated sugar.
Recipe run through
Blend ripe mangoes with honey for natural sweetness and add freshly squeezed orange juice to achieve a smooth consistency. Be mindful not to make the mixture too thick, as this will make it difficult to pour into your popsicle bags Once blended, set the mango mixture aside. Always taste to check if you are satisfied with the sweetness level.
Blend raspberries with honey and freshly squeezed orange juice for sweetness and flavour. The combination of honey and orange juice will complement the tartness of the raspberries, creating a delicious and vibrant puree for your popsicles. Adjust the sweetness to your taste preferences by adding more or less honey as needed.
Alternate pouring the raspberry mixture and mango mixture into your popsicle bags, layering the flavours as you go. The bags typically have a cling film-like seal at the top, making it easy to close securely. Once filled, freeze the popsicles until they are completely solid. Enjoy once frozen solid.
