Oatmeal Banana Porridge Recipe Run Through

Start by boiling water in a pot over medium heat. Add in rolled oats, and bring to a slow boil for about two minutes. Add in banana milk, chia seeds, and cinnamon and bring to a boil stirring frequently. The banana milk, which is a blend of ripe bananas and milk is used as a sweetener for this recipe but you can also add a bit of honey or maple if the sweetness level is too low for you.

To add more flavour to the porridge cinnamon goes well with oatmeal banana. However, you can substitute cinnamon with all-spice or vanilla; whichever you prefer or have on hand.

After the porridge boils for 3-4 minutes, remove and serve. Garnish with a blend of fruit, homemade fruit compote, chocolate or nut butter.

Ingredients

  • 130 gm rolled oats

  • 200 ml water

  • 2 tsp Cinnamon

  • 2 bananas

  • 300 ml milk

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

  • 2-3 tsp honey or maple ( optional)

  • For Garnishing
  • 300 gm Chopped mangoes

  • 50 gm chocolate chips

  • Shredded coconut

Directions

  • To make the banana milk blend 2 ripe bananas with the milk of choice. set it aside.
  • In a medium-sized pan, bring water to a boil then add in rolled oats and let it boil on low for 2 minutes.
  • Add the banana milk, chia seeds, honey and cinnamon powder and cook on low heat for 3 minutes stirring frequently.
  • Serve warm with fruit of choice, nuts, seeds or fruit syrup while warm.
