A creamy homemade ice cream swirled and mixed with caramelized white chocolate and Oreos, a dessert that will have your taste buds bursting in flavour. Caramelized white chocolate Oreo ice cream will have you savouring every spoonful, a few won’t just be enough.
It has a lot of flavour on its own, caramelized white chocolate. A toasted nut, milky, biscuity and caramel flavour that smells heavenly. It is still fascinating how white chocolate can be transformed by slowly roasting it into something so delicate and pristine. Combining it with Oreos makes this a splendid ice cream.
Although the name suggests a whole cart of ingredients, the ice cream base is vanilla, therefore, very few ingredients are needed. And to top it all, no ice cream machine is required for this recipe. Normal homemade vanilla ice cream uses a milky, creamy base and sweetener then, it is flavoured as in this case, with blonde chocolate and oreo cookies. Making homemade ice cream is easy and fun, the only downside is the wait time. Unlike normal store-bought ice cream, which you can get to indulge in at any time, homemade prepared ice cream has to be chilled for a minimum of 8 hours in the freezer.
I would call it the bake time, or cook time. You have to let it sit for a while to allow the flavours to fuse and integrate, and this will take time.
How to prepare caramelized white chocolate with Oreo ice cream.
Make the vanilla ice cream base.
For the ice cream base, you will need,
- Milk
- Heavy cream
- Condensed milk. Sweetener
- Vanilla extract.
In a medium-sized bowl, cream the heavy cream to soft peaks, like soft meringue, then add in the milk, vanilla extract and condensed milk. Mix to combine then, freeze this mixture for 1 hour.
Afterwards, remove from fridge and stir vigorously using a hand whisk. Return the mixture to the freezer and let it sit for one hour. Do this after every hour, for 3 hours until thick.
Prepare the oreo cookies.
Remove the sandwiching cream of every oreo cookie and grind it into small pieces. Pour into the ice cream and stir just to mix in.
Afterwards, pour into an ice cream container and set aside.
Make the caramelized white chocolate ganache.
To make the ganache, finely chop a bar of caramelized white chocolate and mix it with heavy cream in a bowl.
Place the bowl over simmering water and stir occasionally until the chocolate completely melts.
Set the ganache aside for at least 10 minutes to cool. Afterwards, take spoonfuls and pour scattered into the ice cream, then using a skewer make a swirl to distribute it evenly. Cover the containers and refrigerate for at least 10 hours.

Tips to observe when making Caramelized white chocolate oreo Icecream.
Reduce the amount of sugar in the vanilla base. I used sweetened condensed milk as my sweetener but only subtly. This is because caramelized white chocolate and Oreos will also increase the sugar amount which can make the ice cream too sweet. In addition, too much sugar will lower the freezing point of the mixture making it take longer to completely freeze.
Freeze and stir the vanilla base. Start by mixing all the ingredients, except the chocolate ganache and Oreos. Freeze and stir vigorously, every one-hour interval until the ice cream turns thick (but not solid) before adding in the Oreos and caramelized chocolate.
Remember to remove the oreo sandwiching cream. This can affect the flavour and increase the amount of sugar in the ice cream.
Make sure the caramelized white chocolate is completely cooled before adding it to the ice cream.
Use only a few teaspoons of the caramelized white chocolate ganache. Again, you do not want too much sweetener in the ice cream. The remaining is for drizzling on the ice cream when serving, but only to those interested.

Ingredients
400 ml heavy whipping cream
180 ml condensed milk
200 ml milk
350g caramelized white chocolate
200 ml heavy cream( for the chocolate ganache)
150 g crushed Oreos.
Directions
- In a medium-sized bowl, using a hand mixer whip the heavy cream to soft peaks, ( takes about 3 minutes on medium speed). Afterwards, pour in the milk, condensed milk and vanilla extract and mix to combine. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours, mixing vigorously with a whisk after every one-hour interval.
- Remove the white cream filling in all the oreo cookies and pulse in a grinder to small pieces. You can also crush them using a heavy rolling pin on a chopping board. Fold in the vanilla ice cream to distribute evenly. Pour the ice cream into an ice cream container and set it aside.
- Make the caramelized white chocolate ganache. Mix finely chopped chocolate with heavy cream and place the mixture over simmering water. Stir occasionally until the chocolate completely melts.
- Set aside to cool, takes about 10 minutes, then take spoonfuls of the ganache and scarcely drizzle over the ice cream. Take a skewer or a knife and do a marble pattern to distribute the ganache.
- Refrigerate for at least 10 hours or until solid before serving. If it turns out too hard to scoop, thaw at room temperature for 15 minutes.
